My `62 fuelie recently sprouted an oil leak in the vicinity of the mounting flange of the distributor housing. I first tried drying the whole area out and then working my way around the underside of the distributor housing with a mirror and a light trying to spot the source of the oil, but to no avail. I removed the distributor from the engine and took the opportunity to replace some worn parts and to replace all of the seals and gaskets. Upon reinstalling the distributor and firing the car up, the leak reappeared. The engine typically runs several minutes before the leak appears, and the oil first appears on the top surface of the distributor housing base--the surface that the hold-down clamp rests on. I am at a loss to identify the source of this leak and I am wondering if others have experienced similar problems and have any ideas to share. Thanks for your help.
