Why did they bunch the ground wires of the plug wires on the big blocks? There's no question that they look better with one under each individual valve cover bolt, yet pairs of two seems to be considered correct for all years that grounded to the valve covers. I'm leaving mine seperate on the 67 until such time as it's NCRS judged (if ever)

Re: Why did Chevy bunch the spark plug wire ground
It was simply a matter of economics. They had to remove and replace only two bolts in order to attach the grounds instead of four. On AC cars on the RH side they did split the wires on the front two.- Top

Re: Why did Chevy bunch the spark plug wire ground
There's also a 'meager' design engineering aspect to it.... In systems with multiple grounds (e.g. analog ground, and digital ground), the design philosophy is to give each ground the maximum planar area possible and join the two grounds in only ONE location. This is done to thwart 'eddy' current potential and defeat ground plane ressonance.
I think I agree with you, Wayne, it was done as a labor cost saving issue. But, it also provided fewer separate ground plane interconnect points in the ignition system and less chance for an oxidized/imperfect interconnect to introduce ohmic contact and 'tickle' ground plane ressonance....- Top

Wayne,
Put a colon mark next to a closed parenthesis, like this : ) but without the space. That makes . Do a colon and a capital D for : D or .
