I have a 1966 427 425hp. I just started to get a gas leak from the Holly 4brl carburator. The leak only occurs at start up and shut down (after 1 hour). I does not leak after running for a few minutes or when I'm driving (I don't think). The leak comes from the middle of the carburator (front). I have tightened the top screw and the front 4 screws. This has not solved the problem. Is there something else that could be tightened? Could it be a float problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joseph
sounds like the float bowl to metering body gasket is bad. do not over tighten the 4 bowl screws as you can warp the metering body. tighten only to 25-30 INCH pounds.
