I am restoring a tri power setup for 68 427 and am dismantling the carbs to send out to be recolored. Are the main body, bowl and metering block all to be the gold cad color and the base left natural alum? What about linkage color and choke butterfly?
Thanks in advance
Sheldon
Sheldon: Look at Chicago Corvette's website under Carburetors. They have pictures of restored tri-power carbs so that you can get an idea. Don't know if every aspect of the restored carbs are totally correct. That's the only place I know that has any pictures. One of my fellow Vetteheads showed some pictures of a set of tri-power carbs that were done by Jerry Luck. Email me and I'll see if I can get you some pictures of Luck's work.
Body parts are cad plated, base is raw aluminum, all steel parts are gold anodized in varied shades on most Holleys. The choke butterfly is usually very lightly anodized.
