    70 UA6 alarm hardware

Hello, while working in the rear end, I found a rectagular plate (2 x 2.5 in) with an oblong hole (circular with two flats) plus a very thin bolt which mates the hole. I suppose this is the plate where the alarm lock screw in. This is an early 70.
I'd like to know if these are original parts of the alarm system. At present my alarm system is disconected (lock missing) but alarm harness is OK.

    Thanks, Roberto, NCRS #30019, RMC

As far as I recall, the only plate similar to what you decribe which is associated with the alarm system in the rear portion of the car is the backing plate for the horn mounting bracket. The alarm relay was attached to a more-or-less "u" shaped bracket which was attached directly to the right side storage well with aluminum rivets. No backing plate was used for this bracket.

      Thanks Joe,
the alarm horn bracket is different, I cleaned it and the horn and reattached to the left rear fender. I have the electrical components (relay and flasher in jack cmpt). I found the unknown bracket near the back hole, where the alarm lock should be, tied to the alarm harness by the previous owner.
      Thanks, Roberto

Roberto - I e-mailed a photo to you of the backing plate from my UA6 alarm lock above the CORVETTE lettering in the rear. My lock is installed so I'm not quite sure what the shape of the opening is. Hope this helps. ~Juliet

Thanks Juliet!! That's the famous plate. The flats in the hole are probably to index lock position. As the alarm lock is missing the previous owner just left the plate plus bolt hanging in the harness for future use.
