Gary, you really can't expect someone else to price it out for you in detail. Get some vendor catalogs and go through the numbers for parts. You need all the exhaust parts, including extensions, missing brackets, hangars, and clamps, heat shields, plus you may need to get a new rear lower valance panel (if yours doesn't have the holes and bezels for the exhaust extensions), and you'll need new rocker panel covers (plus the hardware they fasten to will need to be added, which may require some welding and painting). If you are trying to return to completely stock, you'll also need to consider whether you need exhaust manifolds, too.

The exhaust pipe and hangar parts alone are probably in the $600 range, rocker mouldings are about $250, rocker brackets are about $150 + install; so you are likely looking at a total figure in the $1500 range.

I recently did this on a 1967 Big Block. The exhaust system was $600 with shields. About $150 labor to install. NOS side mouldings $300. NOS Exhaust bezels and tips $150. I did not need to replace side mounting brackets. They had been bent backwards, but were usuable. I was able to reuse rear exhaust valence panel. Labor and paint to repair valence was about $250.I sold my side exhaust for $800. If I had to do it again, I would leave the side exhaust on. The car sounds wimpy.. Jim Carmain #37003

Jim, Who's system did you use? Stainless? Aluminumized? Did you consider chambered?

You can likely sell your side exhaust pieces for a decent price if they're usable to someone else. If you've got an original rear valance panel without cutouts - and NOT filled in holes - that's a hard piece to find. The rest will sell priced by condition.

I think the exhaust pipes for your conversion will be less expensive if you buy the whole kit from one vendor. Buy the parts at a show, and someone like Corvette Central, who makes their own systems, will ship it to you free and give 10% off.

I just installed a complete aluminized system from Paragon - fit perfect, has all the right bumps and flats.
