try cleaning the battery connections even if they look ok remove them and clean
them. my car does this every once in a while I keep a wrench in the car, loosen the cable move it back and forth a few times and then retighten. good for another six months. if still nothing check if you have a fusable link
and check and see if it is bad.

After you have cleaned the battery terminals on the post-style battery in your 68 and still not having power to start to the car, you could using a screw driver and manually short across the solenoid using this tool and see if you can get the starter to function.- Top
