C2, 65 Steering column assembly to dash, missing p

Am I missing a cosmetic ring or part? I am assembling a standard steering column under the dashboard assembly. I started with the mounting bracket under the dash. Then the dashboard, then a black metal “L” bracket, outside the dash, which has two screws (attach) under the dash. Should there be a rubber or a plastic piece before the turn signal enclosure?

    Dave:

It is not clear what you are referring to, so I will give you the long and short.
On the underside of the column, there is a black plastic sleeve which covers and protects the column harness. This sleeve pins into the column housing, and fits into a slot on the underside of the dash bezel.
Between the dash bezel, and the column housing, there is a rubber seal, which is held in place by a spring steel clip.
Both of these items are available from most of the Corvette specialty parts houses, but I like Long Island Corvette Supply for midyear parts-they have a brochure which is taken directly from the Assembly Manual.
