    Distributor tag

My tach drive distributor tag on my 68 has numbers that I cannot find in my handy dandy 68 to 82 specifications guide.

    # 1111024 Delco Remy 3 C 18

Let me guess, it came off a 1968 Farmall tractor right?

Appreciate some experienced in-site on this one.

    Thanks,

    Chuck #32205

    Looks like a 1963 250, 300, and 340 hp distributor.

      Re: Not Quite The Farmall

Seeing as I have a 327/300 power plant, I guess I can live with it for now.

Gee, maybe if I keep it under the hood long enough, my 68 will morph into a split window! Wouldn't that be nice.

      Thanks for the input Ed,

      Chuck

Interesting comment. I remember when the '68s first came out, they were the were all the rage - a NEW Corvette!

My very clean 60K mile SWC was probably worth about $2000 as a tradein for a new "Shark".

Re: Guess It Just Shows you

the old saying "What goes around comes around" holds true.

I've loved split windows ever since they came out.

If it wasn't for fact that I was eight years old at the time (Yes 1955!)I would have beat feet to my local Chevy dealership then and there.

Don't get me wrong though, this is my second chrome bumpered shark car.

Theyre kind of like eating peanuts, you just can't stop with just one!

          Catch you later Duke,

          Chuck

About right Duke, in 1968 I bought my first Corvette, a 64 convertible 327/300, 4-speed, and factory air conditioning for $2,100.00
