Suggestions for power antenna mast lubricant

Does anyone have a suggestion for what product to use to lubricate the mast on a
power antenna? Should I simply clean the mast with soap and water and then use car wax? Or should I use some light oil w/ or w/o teflon? I don't want to gum it up.

    Thanks,

    Gary

Don't know what year of car your antenna is on, however the maint manual for my 85 says to clean and lubricate. My 96 says only to clean the electric antenna, no lubrication.

I spray WD-40 on a tissue and wipe them down.

        Excellent question, Gary.

I spray Gunk Liquid Wrench on a tissue and coat the mast lightly while fully extended. I then lower it and wipe off the residual.

I'm not convinced that this technique provides much lubrication to the internal antenna components below the mast. Hopefully, someone will offer a better suggestion.

I'm with Brian. With all my cars - power or manual antenna - I fully extend them and wipe them down with a clean rag dampened with WD-40, and try to
remember to do this with every wash job. I've never had a frozen antenna - cars ages from 11 to 39 years.
