I was told by a mech judge that my air cleaner silk screen did not exist. I had already replated the lid and can read most(80%) of the orig. silk screen. If I have the silk screen redone it must be in a different place so will the old silk screen still not exist when it is rejudged? Thanks!

Re: ? for 63' Mech Judges / air cleaner silk scree
Stan, I am a silk screener and have been for about 20 years. Unless I really don't understand my industry, whatever you have on your cleaner is an "ink". It might be an epoxy ink or enamel ink or whatever back then. So, my question would be why do you not just totally remove it? Interested in the responses that you recieve and maybe I should start silk screening corvette thingies. bill 58/72conv/84/90 6-spd- Top

Before you go changing anything, perhaps you should get clarification and a second opinion on the exact reasons why your existing piece is not acceptable.
Seems to me a correct original marking that's still 80% there is far better than an attempt at a restoration which destroys the original.- Top
