    Powder Coating Top Frame

I am in need of replacing the convertible top on my '66 roadster. Someone mentioned to me that I should have the frame "powder coated", but I am not familiar with that process. Do you have to take the entire frame apart, piece by piece to powder coat? If so, can that be done? Is it a good idea?

Yes, the frame would have to be disassembled, and mating surfaces masked. Powder coating is probably the most durable finish, but the frame was not originally done that way, and it's out of the weather, so a good quality paint would likely be fine.
