I am restoring a 1965 coupe. I would like to know if after market the under car chambered exhaust sounds as loud and as great as chambered side exhaust.

I have an Allen's Stainless Steel Exhaust (aluminized, not stainless) undercar chambered setup on a '68 L79 and it is not quiet. Exhaust sound is a very subjective thing, so it's hard to describe, but in my opinion this system has a classic musclecar sound. Definitely not a Flowmaster sound. As far as loud, the L79 is stock and the exhaust sets off some car alarms when I idle through a parking lot. With the T-tops off, back window out, 3.36 gears and the exhaust exiting the rear, the sound is perfect for me around town or at 80 mph on the highway.
