c2-dash side trim panel finish

Hello All
Just redoing some interior stuff on the '63 and noticed that the side trim panels that fill the bottom of the center dash appear to have a textured finish. Is this a factory installed finish to help it match the dash pads which butt right up against these panels? Also noticed the speaker cover could have had textured finish to match the dash as well. If in fact the factory did texture these to blend better with the dash pads and dash cover how would one achieve this prior to painting.

The Red interior of my mid production SWC has flat painted center side panels, speaker grille and lower windshield garnish molding. I was able to find three different paint codes for the interior, the difference being the level of gloss.

None of the painted surfaces have a textured finish.

What particular paint should be used on the dash side panels through which
radio access and power antenna switch reside(on my 65)? I see many vendors
offer a single paint with primers for different interior components.Your
thoughts? Thanks.

Though I found three paint codes for my '63 red interior, my PPG supplier could not find the actual formulas, so I brought in one example of each level of gloss and he mixed three paints to match. That's about all I can tell you.

Different model years and different interior colors add up to a lot of different paints.

Thanks for the feedback guy's. I do recall Duke saying there were thee shades of paint on his trim when he did his, so I'm keeping that in mind when I spray the covers with a smooth surface in about 15 minutes, got to go Larry
