    Rear wire harness clips

    All,
Can someone tell me where and how the clips are attached that hold the rear harness to the body on a 61. I had to replace the entire rear upper panel some time back and the new panel wasn't marked as to the location of the clips. Are they riveted to the underside of the trunk lip and if so which way do they face?. The AIM shows eight clips that appear to be evenly spaced but can't seem to find any info on the technique used to attach them. Appreciate any feedback.
    Regards,
    Mike

    Re: Rear wire harness clips

well, they are riveted as you said to the left side trunk lip. if you open the trunk and look on the side of the left gutter you will see flat head rivets. these were installed on the panel before it was bonded to the rest of the rear panels. i believe there is also another support strip that they go through but it's been awhile since i have done one. you can get the rivets from pacific corvette as they stock them. these are not to bad to install but you will need to countersink the hole as the rivets are flush with the fiberglass. i also believe the opening goes towards the fender.

      Thanks Bob,
Since I didn't put these on BEFORE assembling the panels I guess it's going to be loads of fun.

        Re: look at another car

best thing is to look at another car just to see what im talking about. the fiberglass needs to be countersunk where the rivets in the trunk gutter go. i do not know if you can get a stright on shot at this. im going over to work on a 62 tomorrow i will check it out for you.
