I was pop riveting the ends on my 1967 dash and the rivets would not pull all the way thru before separating. They would break about 1 inch from the ends of the stem, leaving a stub to cut off. Has anyone else had this problem? I bought these rivets from Long Island Corvette.

no rivet pulls all the way through. there designed to break close to the ball head but this doesn't happen all the time. you can take a punch and tap the stem in and let it go or tap the stem through and drill out and redo. you can try and make a cut mark where you want the rivet stem to break. this works for me. -

Be sure the grip range of the rivet is correct.
