    67 PS - Update

Thanks to all the responses. You guys scared me at first, but, after checking and rechecking all the hoses, I did manage to install them correctly. Sounds like the consensus is the control valve that needs adjusted. I couldn't find any info as to how to adjust the control valve in either my Chassis service manual or Chilton corvette 63-83. Any idea whether the nut needs to be tightened or loosened?
Thanks again, I'm determined to get this right and get another month out of this car before winter hits here in Ohio.

The nut needs to be turned whichever direction that it takes to balance the valve. I am almost sure that this procedure is in the Chevrolet or Corvette Service Manual.

The 63 Shop Manual has a description of the process on page 9-24.

Start with the cylinder rod disconnected from the frame bracket and start the engine.

If the piston rod remains retracted with the engine running, turn the nut clockwise until the rod begins to move out, then counterclockwise until it begins to move in, then turn the nut back to the mispoint between those two nut positions.

Conversely, if the rod was extended at the start, turn the nut counterclockwise, etc.

If you then have the rod balanced, you should be able to move the piston rod in and out by hand.

Turn off the engine and connect the rod to the frame bracket.

Start the engine, and the wheels should not turn in either direction. If they do, readjust again to correct the imbalance.

Make that "midpoint", not "mispoint" *NM*

          Wayne,
Thanks you ever so much for the info. Went out there and followed your directions and she is running like a charm. Better than new and unbelievable easy to maneuver around tight turns.
          Thanks again for the info.
