Did G.M make a luggage rack and trailer hitch for a 67 coup and if so were could I find a luggage rack? I think the hitch was bolted to the bumpers.

Re: 67 coup luggage rack
Not factory options, and I doubt GM made any, but those things were available in the aftermarket and may have been offered by Chevy dealers as add-ons. Ski racks were very popular.
The trailer hitches I've seen bolt to the center spring mount under the differential using longer bolts, and require a hole on the underside of each rear bumper as well.
My recollection is that luggage racks required drilling 4 holes in the rear deck.
I don't think those accessories are available new anymore, if there are any to be found they'd be swap-meet parts in need of restoration (or advertised in the NCRS Driveline publication).
One parts vendor that might be knowledgeable about that sort of thing is Rick Miller in CA (last number I had for him was 619-273-5283).- Top

Re: 67 coup luggage rack
I saw one on Ebay several months ago, it went for a pretty penny (not that it was worth it). The dealers had a rack they installed after the car was at the dealership, similar to the Shark years. As you say, never a factory option. Seems like the right hand mirror was similar....Craig- Top

Re: 67 coup luggage rack
We have a 1965 coupe that we bought from the second owner back in '74 that has a dealer installed luggage rack. I've only seen one other coupe here in the midwest with a rack on it. BTW, we are planning to restore the car, and plan to remove for good. Anyone interested?
