On our 68 .. the doors seem to have a poor fit .. no matter what .. there is no way that you get an even gap between the door edge and body edge ... the gap is always smaller at the bottom of the door then at the top (front and rear) .. it is almost light the body has an arch upwards in the middle .. but being a T-top car how could that be ...... any ideas ??

Re: C3 door alignment
look at your rear body mounts. are they rotten? these cars never fit good when they were new. if you want to try and adjust the doors you need to start with the body lines and the flushness of the door to the other panels. to narrow the rear gap you can take a shim out of the mount in front of the rear wheel and add one at the mount behind the wheel. dont go too much as a t-top car doesn't flex like a roadster! if you have no luck at this then the only solution is to add and remove material from the door and or panels.- Top

Re: C3 door alignment-reply
Tolerance is typically called out in the AIM and some are 'surprized' when they take the time to look up factory original specs on these older cars.... Sometimes the allowable variance can be up to 0.250 inches!!!!- Top
