    radio replacing

My 1979 vette has a non-functional AM-FM Stereo Radio with Cassette, and power antenna. The wiring problem has been solved, thanks a bunch.

Now comes looking for replacement radio. I found a place that offers two. One with 60 Watt power, and one with 24 Watt power. The old radio has on labels or markings and the speakers the same.

Does anyone know where to find the specs for AM-FM Radio R.P.O. U-69.

    Thanks again,

    Thomas......

    Re: radio replacing

Unless you want something beyond factory original feature/functions, you just might find a nearby independent AC/United Delco dealer can repair your factory original radio! There were hundreds of these shops coast to coast....

If it's an issue of fitting the dash and giving extended features (like CD, Etc.), then it's simply a matter of visiting your local aftermarket supplier and working with him to understand your selection alternatives in terms of price, features and installation impact. MOST of the modern sets are installed by CUTTING the existing center console opening for the installation and covering the 'chop' with a dress plate bezel.

But, there ARE alternatives made to fit the existing center console cut-out without 'chopping' away. Folks like Mid-America offer a number of catalog alternatives in this vein.
