I'm looking for a speedometer gear with 16 teeth. I'm about 10 miles too slow on the speedometer and have an 18 teeth gear in there now. I am trying to avoid taking out the drive gear.
GM never sold a 16 tooth driven gear that would be compatible with your drive gear; 18 teeth is the smallest number of teeth available.
However, a 1963 with Powerglide and 3.08:1 rear gears should take a GM #3987920 BLUE driven gear which is of 20 tooth count gear. If your tire size is close to the stock OD, this gear should get you about as close as you can get without using an adapter.
