My GM parts people find gloss and flat. Anyone have a GM part number for semi-gloss engine/heat black?

Re: GM Semi-Gloss Black Engine Paint/Part Number?

GM doesn't offer a semi-gloss engine enamel, per se. The closest product which they do offer in an engine enamel is "low gloss black". This paint is supplied in 11 oz aerosol cans under GM #12346296. It is perfect for "corporate black" engines.
GM also offers another semi-gloss black paint which has been around since forever. This is black reconditioning paint, GM #1050104. This is, basically, the same paint which was used for much of the chassis blackout operations and other black chassis finishes like engine brackets, etc. Of course, it's been reformulated to be VOC-compliant, but it's still just about the same color and finish as that used on Corvettes of old. It's not really an engine paint, but it can be used on an engine. Unfortunately, it's only supplied in gallon cans.
GM also has an aerosol, satin black chassis reconditioning paint under GM #12346302. I don't like this product and don't recommend it.
For engine paints, I really prefer VHT, OEM Paints, Seymour, or Plasti-Cote.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
