The radiator in my 71 is bad and the support is rusted out. The core is rotted a there is aproblem with one tank. The car has a 270hp 350 4 spd. with air and PS. It does not have an expansion tank. A guy at Carlise said that it should be a 27.5 inch radiator copper radiator is that correct.
What radiator should I have?

Henry------
You should have radiator GM #3018803. This is a copper/brass radiator with a 26" wide core. It was discontinued about 25 years ago and replaced by GM #3018802 which is the same radiator but has transmission oil cooler fittings (unused for your application). The latter radiator was also discontinued about 12 years ago. Your best bet is to have your bad tank repaired and have the radiator re-cored. I think that DeWitts sells a perfect replacement core for your radiator. Unless the tank is really bad, it should be repairable by soldering. With a repaired tank and a new core, your radiator will be as-new.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
