    1960, 270 HP carburator question

I have a 1906 corvette with a 270 HP 283 engine. It has dual carburators. The rear carb has a fitting at the rear which looks, feels and sounds like a vacuum line, but it has no hose/tube attached to it. It looks like it should have a tube attached, and I can't figure out where it goes. Can someone tell me where/how it should be connected and what type of tubing should be used.

    Thanks
    Richard

I'm sure others join me in wanting to see a photo of your '06 Vette!!!
Maybe the vacuum is for the widshield washers?

Several possibilities - could be the vacuum source for windshield washers (if the car has that option), or could be owner-installed as a tune-up aid (vacuum source for a vacuum gauge for setting idle mixture). 245hp's with Powerglide used a fitting here for the modulator line, but Powerglide wasn't available with the 270hp.
