I'm attempting to restore the washer function on this early 245hp '58. The AIM diagram is a little unclear as to just where the vacuum tank mounts. I have a tank that has mounting legs just like in the Restorer CD article (1/4 inch holes, 3 inches apart).
There are two existing 1/4 inch holes on my inner skirt (driver's side, on the curve projection just forward of the original washer tank bracket) that are maybe 1-1/16 inch apart vertically. Before having the tank in hand, I had assumed these were the tank mounting holes; but clearly this tank doesn't match this hole pattern.
*Q1* Could someone point me in the right direction with regard to dimensions and / or photos of a properly installed left-hand washer setup, especially the vacuum tank, for a carbureted '58?
By the way, this car has the coordinator vacuum fitting parallel to the
coordinator body (3744482?) which Noland's book (p. 261) indicated had not perhaps been seen in captivity. I suppose it could have been retrofitted. *Q2* Does anyone else have this type, versus the 45 degree angles down fitting?
*Q3* I also see 2 sets of small holes (rectangular patterns, one above the other) in the broad vertical sidewall area of the left inner skirt (essentially, opposite the battery location) that appear to be original. Any comments as to what these might have been?
