Currently on eBay (link below) "562" block (no cast date given) assembled in Tonawanda on July 12th, 1965; installed in L78 Corvette VIN # 21582 (which probably rolled off the assembly line on July 4th !). Block is completely whacked and the pad looks legit (OK, maybe the top and bottom bars of the number "1" and letter "I" look a little wide).
Wayne - that one cyl certainly is in dire need of a sleeve! However, the machinist I use does this kind of work all the time. Certainly the price is right IF there are no issues with other integrity items such as the main bearing webs etc....and the decks...I have a spare 942 block I ended up with free as it was overdecked so the intake manifold wouldn't even drop in....but that shouldn't be the case here....Craig
