The 3870325 is cast into the center hub. Is that also the GM part number (vs a casting number that they used to make various balancers out of)? It is an 8" big block balancer, so I thought it was for hipo applications. Were 8" big block balancers used for non hipo applications?
The number that you are referring to is a casting number for the balancer hub section; it is not a part number for a complete balancer assembly. That hub may or may not have been used for several balancers.
The 3870325 hub was a non-counterweighted balancer hub. So, the balancer that you have is very likely one of the 66-70 balancers used for SHP 396, 402, and 427 engine applications.
