I know that my 68 frame's core support mounts are different from 69 and later frames, but I cannot visualize what I would need to do to modify a late model frame to fit the 68.
Is there a diagram or sketch out there that I could hopefully get my hands on to see what needs to be done?
Chuck, Why would you want to modify a newer frame to fit your '68? Unless you already have one. NOS frames are available for '68/69 for about $3600 for 4 spd or $3281 for auto at Vette Products of Michigan website
As I can't swing $3,500 bucks (plus major freight) for an NOS frame, I have to go the used route, that's the long and short of it.
I have several resourses that carry later rust free, no hit frames at what I feel are reasonable prices that will suit my needs except for the obvious core support modifications.
Even though I have plated the weak areas of my current frame and am absolutley confident in it's strenght, the more I look at it, the more I want to just bite the bullet and go ahead with a straight frame.
