    help with C3 seat tracks

    Hi Guys,
Another newbie here. My searches have come up dry. I've purchased a 68 coupe and the seat tracks are pretty rotted. Where can I get replacements? I was going to be "johnny get the body off" until I read the tech archives for a few days. Wow, thanx to all for the great advice. I'll wait and learn. I have a few things to fix and I'll be road ready.
    Thanx
    Ed

Re: help with C3 seat tracks

    Ed-----

The 68-71 adjusters (seat tracks), GM #3913069 and GM #3913070, were discontinued quite some time ago and are not reproduced. Several years ago, I located and purchased an NOS car-set of these [none for sale] and it was one of my "prize acquisitions".

Given the scarcity of these (to say the least) in the NOS market and the fact that they are not reproduced leaves one only the used marketplace. In that marketplace you will find these parts, in one condition or another. Likely, you will need to restore them, but you want to look for a set which are, basically, sound. When restoring these, I don't recommend any attempt at disassembly. Just clean and restore them as best you can without taking them apart.

Check with Contemporary Corvette of Bristol, PA, Pacific Corvette of Puyallup, WA or Paragon Vintage of Swartz Creek, MI.

      C-3 seat tracks

      Ed,

One of my favorite local Corvette parts stores, Vette Products of Michigan lists their part no 17606 Seat Track Rails R or L for $35 ea. Try this webpage:

Good luck and enjoy your '68 Coupe!!

        Thanx David,
I went to that link and they refer to it as the seat side rails. Are these the two tracks that the seat slide mechanism sits on? I'm not sure and they have no description
        Thanx

Ed, I don't know about the description, try an e-mail to them or call.
