    60 Clutch linkage

I know some of my questions sound dumb. Again, I didn't take it apart and
nothing was documented or marked. The drawings I have seen are not clear.
Specifically the connection of the clutch rod that goes from the pedal to
pivot shaft on the engine side of the firewall.
I assume the shouldered bolt goes thru the bushing with the head of the bolt on the
drivers side and the threaded side on the passenger side.
The rod to the pedal attaching on the passenger side of the bushing.
Bolt seems to be stressed at an angle distorting the rubber part of the bushing.
    (like the front sway bar)
I know, its not a C5. The rod to the clutch pedal seems to be low right
thru the hole in the firewall. Note; the clutch/brake assembly & steering column
are not attached yet. It still doesn't seem right.
    Help?

    Re: 60 Clutch linkage

    Larry,

First, the clutsh pedal push rod mounts to a stud on the bracket attached to the pedal. Make sure you place the special thick washer between the bracket and the rod, a clip is used to hold the rod on. Make sure the rod is in a "vee" up position and the bracket is mounted to match ( turning the rod over and mounting the bracket forward, is for a 4 1/2" quick release setting) I placed the rod on the drivers side, thus assembling the shoulder bolt from the engine side and the nut and washer on the outside ( drivers side) this allowed the rod to move very free.Do all this after you install the clutch/brake support into place via of the master cylinder mounting studs and nuts. The clutch & brake pedals should be all premounted into the support. Hope this helps. I well check my AIM one more time to make sure I'm correct on the shoulder bolt direction.

      Re: 60 Clutch linkage

      Thanks Dennis,
I have done all as you have said, except, with the rod on the engine side,
(Thats the only way it wants to fit) The shouldered bolt must be installed
from the driver side, as the rod only fits over the threaded side of the
CC shouldered bolt. Therefore the threads are toward the engine.
I can't find drawings anywhere that are clear on this.
      Thanks again
      Larry
