    C1 Replating Deck Lid Latches

I have been informed that in order to replate the deck lid latches they must be disassembled and then re-assembled (riveted). Any suggestions regarding a source for re-assembling them (and typcial cost) or a "do-it-yourself" methodology. Thanks.

They didn't have to with mine. However, I went with a chrome plate, but unpolished, so they're not shiny, but have that new look. I'm not sure what the "correct" plating is (cadmium or whatever). So I don't know if that process would also allow leaving them assembled, but it seems like it should.

I disassembled mine, had them plated then sent them to Paragon for reassembly. Don't know if they still do that. I was pleased with the results.

          C1 deck lid latches

I have some C1 softtop/hardtop latches that are remakes of original style, they were chrome plated as assembled.

Richard, I disassembled mine and then had a machines make the pins that make them pivot. They were very inexpensive to have machined. As I recall over half of the originals were very re-usable. They simply had to be repeened. They disassembled very easily with a sharp center punch. Good luck Larry Boden
