    C2 Leaf Spring Removal

I know when I reinstall the leaf spring, I should just snug up the four center mounting bolts, then attach the two outer mount bolts, set the car down on the ground, and then torque the four center mounting bolts to the correct specs to avoid breaking an ear off the case.

What about removal? Can I simply remove the two outer mount bolts (using a jack to remove spring tension) and then remove the four center mounting bolts? Or is an additional step required to protect the case ears?

    Thanks for your help,

    Mike

Removal of the spring is generally as you describe. No "extra step" is required. However, I suggest that you carefully follow the removal procedure found in your Chevrolet Corvette Factory Service Manual. This is for your safety as well as "parts preservation".
