    Dale Pearman Update

Let me start by saying that Dale's wishes concerning certain changes in the NCRS are indeed, very dear to him.
He's always been one of the most dedicated and unselfish individuals I have had the pleasure to know. While his style may not have been to everyone's liking, his heart and feelings have, and will continue to be, in the best interest of us all, and the Corvette hobby as a whole.

Dale called me about several hours ago. We talk daily, if he's up to it, I try not to bother him.

    Here's today's update:

Today has been so far, a pretty good day. He's weakening but the swelling is down. The pain killers are working, even though he's using them sparingly in order to stay alert and tie up the loose ends. Lots of parts and components to return (read carbs) to the people that have entrusted them to him, for his excellent restorations. This, belive it or not, is one of his major concerns.
He's in good spirits and his determination to get through this are high. He has not, lost his will to live, far from it in fact. The kidney problems that have been mentioned as of late don't exist, that's a by-product of the medication he's taking to relieve fluids. The immediate problem is with his Liver.

David Grayson, Steve Bone and Elanor (Dale's Ex.) are trying to arrange an interview with the Doctor's at Vanderbilt University, to see if he's a candidate for a possible Liver transplant. Still waiting for the referral. Let's pray that they are successful in their efforts. If their efforts are not successful, a Memorial service is to be held, seven days after his passing, in Atwood, and both Dale and the family have requested that all of his Corvette friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. I'll let you know what that date is, once things are settled.

I wish this could be longer and a bit more optimistic, but there isn't any reason to sugar-coat the situation. It is what it is, and I'll leave it to you to draw your own conclusions and say your own prayer's.

Let me finish by saying, Dale is overwhelmed by all of the cards and letters he has received in the past several weeks. He never realized how many friends he has made over the years, and he appreciates everyone of them.
