C3-T-Top tie down

Here is my question. My 1978 Corvette manual shows a tie down strap that was available to hold your t-tops in place when they are in the cargo area of the vette. Does anyone know where you can find a replacement my car did not come with it when I bought it? I am looking for one in dark blue. I checked Eckler's and I went to the Vettefest in Chicago today with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks. Chip

Chip - I am not sure of the configuration of the 1976 strap, but I have seen 1972 style removable hardtop hold down straps at swap meets. The condition often leaves something to be desired, but they are out there. You might consider a mid-winter trip to Florida.

They're on eBay all the time. I bought mine from a Corvette Salvage yard. $40

As a matter of fact.....

There is a brown one there right now. I suppose you can bleach it white, and dye it to the color you need with RIT clothes dye.

Thank you for all of the information. I was able to locate one today for $30.00. Thanks George... Dennis had one in stock. One last question. I need to find a CB manual, a battery card, a tire card and the maintaince card. Any ideas where to track down this kind of stuff for my 78? At the Chevy Vettefest in Chicago, everyone had owner's manuals, but no one had this stuff.
