I need to apply some paint to a set of '65 wheelcovers - the painted area around the slots has been cleaned. What is the correct color; gray or black? Is this the same color as the '66 wheelcover? Does Eastwood offer the correct paint? What is the coverage of the paint - the apparent area just around the slots? I have a pretty extensive library, and to my surprise there are very few good close-up shots of the '65 wheelcover. If anyone out there has a good shot, maybe you could email a jpg to me. Thanks for any inputs.

Everett: If your caps have been highly polished, long-term adhesion of the LIC paint will be a concern. I know of two solutions: prime using special black paint formulated for bright window trim. It's made by SEM and has a self-etching property. Or, if you have a bead blast cabinet, mask off the cap and lightly bead it. Unfortunately, you'll have to remask for the paint step.
And don't forget to paint the outer groove.- Top
