      Re: C1 I don't get it

Only if it rained on the day your car was built. Do the birthday calculator to determine what day your car was built. Look up the weather report for St. Louis that day. The newspaper should have the climatological data, or try NOAA. Make sure it rained that day.

You might have some trouble with the judges if it rained in the morning; cleared in the afternoon; and, your car was built late in the day.

It's not date stamped or cast so repro water probably will pass. But for the true enthusiast, you could probably find NOS rain water on Ebay.

(BTW, I assume you have St. Louis air in your tires.)

        Re: C1 I don't get it

You know, the St Louis air isnt a bad idea. I was thinking I might drive through StLouis on the way to the next NCRS event and bring my 80 gallon air compressor and fill up on NOS StLouis air (from the industrial area of town so as to be as accurate in make-up as possible). Then I could go to the NCRS event and set up shop offering St Louis air for all of the Top-Flight guys before they get their judging done.

I know that tire air originality isnt judged, but it might be another one of those things that incidentally influences the opinion of your particular judge in other areas... kind of like pointing out the correct date code on a C2 rear end even though it isnt judged - cant hurt.

          Won't work....

using today's 'NOS' St. Louis air.... The savvy judge will simply whip out his pocket gas chromatigraph, sample the air in the tires and discover it lacks the characteristic PPM background count of DDT pesticide. You'd either have to make 'restoration' St. Louis air in your home chemistry lab or come on out to Colorado where we can dig DEEP into a mountain glacier to mine those truly NOS trapped air bubbles from yesterday!

My memory of St Louis air from the 50's was a distinct diesel and coal smoke smell.
