    C=3 Argent Silver Wheel Color

    Just had a Quart of paint mixed and also received an order from Eastwood with a spray can of Argent Silver. Have an original wheel and the colors are not even close. The original wheel has a hint of green in the paint.

    Can't find the original quart that I purchased from Quanta about 9 years ago and that color was perfect. Don't want to order from another supplier until I can get some info.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Check the archives. You must have an early C3. (68-69?) They do have a green "hue" to them. I used Eastwood's Argent Silver on my 72 rally's and didn't like the finish. I ended up fine wet sanding them down then satin clear coating over it. The finish was not the correct gloss, it was very dusty looking.

      John, You need Chuck Gongloff to chime in on this. Check the archives I think he figured it out. Good Luck Happy Thanksgiving.

          To the best of my knowledge, Quanta does not make the silver/green rally wheel paint anymore. I found a source, OEM Paint in California. They have it, and it looks good. Cost?? $25.00 per rattle can. I tried to have some mixed at my local supplier. Problem was that their scanner would only translate to BC/CC, a Chrylser, Maserati color as I recall. I really like the OEM paint color. Bought 6 cans. Did 9 of my own wheels, sold 2 cans to a fellow member, and still have 1 1/2 cans left for me. Chuck

            Found some more info: OEM Paints website is www.oempaints.com Their phone number is 760-747-2100 They're in California. The color that my paint dealer matched to the silver/green is 1983 Maserati Smoky Quartz Metallic BC/CC. Chuck
