    1969 radiators

    Question: Some 69's have radiators w/ overflow canisters and some don't. Which do (autos?) and which don't?

    Scott-----

    NO 1969 Corvettes use an overflow tank. However, most 1969 Corvettes use an external supply tank (this is what I think that you're referring to) EXCEPT the following:

    1) some 1969 Corvettes with L-46 and copper/brass radiator;

    2) all 1969 Corvette with small block and THM-400 transmission

    3) all 1969 Corvette with small block and A/C

    All other 1969 Corvettes used the external supply tank. For all except big block with A/C, the tank was aluminum. For big block with A/C, the tank was brass.

    By the way, overflow tanks on Corvettes did not begin until 1973 which was also the first year that external supply tanks disappeared from Corvettes. They came back during the C4 era, though.
