I own a 1982 silver green vette, it has silver green interior. The center panel of the seats, side covers of the console and the back side of my console cushion all have velour cloth on them. Everything so far seems to be stock on this car. I've been told that it may not be stock. The paint code tag on the pilar post of the car has 401 or 40I, 40L and 40U. I found a list of paint and interior codes on the web, the L may stand for leather. I don't know what the rest means. I would like to know if this interior could be or is stock, and if there is a source that can reproduce these seat covers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1982 silver green interior
Larry - the 40L and 40 U stand for paint code 40, U is upper, and L is lower. Somewhere along the line, GM went to this when they came out with split color paint schemes I recall. 401 probably does mean the color code and leather....as I recall, the 3 digit interior codes were leather vs vinyl or cloth. I would go to Al Knoch for getting the interior matched correctly...Craig- Top
