    60 windshield frame installation

I am about to reinstall my windshield assemblies back on my 60 . I have the lower rubber setting seal/track and the two end seals and am in need of some info as I didn't take my car apart.
    1. What type of sealer do you recommend. AIM calls for "medium bodied??" is that silicone or urethane?
    2. What areas should I apply the sealant to.
    3. Do I glue the rubber setting seal/track to the car body?
    4. I do remember some areas that had 3m type rope calking.??
    5. How many of the rubber seals should I install under each of the corner posts?
Any information about what products to use and where they should be applied would be greatly appreciated!!

    Re: 60 windshield frame installation

There have been many posts about this subject in the past six months and the majority of the re-installers did not use adhesive; unless you intend to drive your car in the rain, the need for additional sealants is probably not necessary. Those who have discussed their experience with sealants said it makes a big, sticky mess, but it can be done. I have the information on the types of sealant and can e-mail it to you on Tuesday. I installed the windshield on my 1960 on Sunday. The only sealant I used is the rope caulk in front of the body to lower frame gasket; in front of the holes. You can use contact cement between the body and the body-to-frame gasket.
