    C1 --- 58 front clip (doghouse)

I'm just starting to dig into this 58 basket case I bought a while back. It needs a complete front clip due to some pretty nasty repairs to the damaged original. Too many cracks patches and bondo to fool with. The only place I've found so far that has the "correct" press molded parts is CORVETTE CENTRAL. They want upwards of $4000 dollars for thiers and that's without crating and shipping. I called to see if I might be able to just pick it up from them and at least save the shipping charges and was told they don't actually MAKE the parts, but have them made. Does anybody know who actually makes thier stuff or have a suggestion as to a different supplier? Any help appreciatted.
    Thanx, Mick

Thanks Joe for the Link you sent. Having not worked on a corvette since my college days back in the very early 70's (when I owned another 58') I have lost touch with who has all the parts. Again , thanks for the reply Mick

Try Jim Sermersheim's in Evansville, Indiana He did a 60 front end for me and I am very happy. He can do it just like original with bonding strips complete Phone 812-424-4701

You might log into Hemmings Motor News site (www.hemmings.com) It's a good place to start scanning sources and services. A graveyard source will likely have an original clip - but beware you're not buying another front end like yours. My first restoration was a 58 - it's my favorite - still got it. I'm rebuilding a 54 now (www.johnsvetshop.com) - Good Luck / John

Thanx John for the good input and thought. Like you said, so far , I can only find much of what I already have !!! Years ago,(1972) full bodys could be found ,but sad to say , today most have been ******ed up , and restored. I still haven't given up hope of finding a good "original" "unhit" front-clip , but the longer I look , the more I realize just how much this is like looking for a "needle-in-a-haystack" !!!! Thanx for the reply Mick
