    1995 vs 1996 Wiper Blades

Not the wiper arms, but the part that holds the insert

Jim, do you have any clue to what they look like? maybe a pic. I have a set I removed front a C4 later year maybe 95, maybe some else has a pic. I can make out some letters on the blade , it appears like NWB.OR NWD?? One of the blades has a aero foil a fixed to it, likely the drivers side.

I don't have my JG, as I'm on the road, but I think the 95s were different than the 96. Maybe someone in the know could chime in here

Not sure if they are the original part number, but they still show as available at just over $9 each. 22155368 right, 22154985 left. I'm sure that someone will chime in if these are service replacements or not.

Jim, unfortunately I don't know where to find some. Might check eBay from time-to-time.

Here's pics of my 96's original blades.

As to my original inserts, one side of the rubber on each one appears to read "X 12B 94 (dots) 5" on one end, and "-203" on the other end, but the font is really small and hard to read.

          Good luck.

Yes, those are the original part numbers and they are both still available. However, is it possible that they have changed in minor ways during the last18 years? Yes, very possible.

I have a November 1998 GM Crash Estimating Guide that lists GM # 22154986 for the R/S wiper blade and GM # 22154987 for the L/S wiper blade for the 95-96 Corvette. I assume that these part numbers were what was available over the counter at GM dealerships in November 1998.

Those were the original part numbers for 1995 Corvettes but not 1996. The 22154986 was discontinued in March, 1999 and replaced by GM #10288072 which is also discontinued now. The 22154987 is also discontinued. However, the 1996 blade assemblies mentioned above will work for 1995.

                      Jim,

There is an article in the summer 2009 issue of the Corvette Restorer magazine detailing the differences in the insert holders for 84 - 94. It may contain some information that might be useful.

I bought some of the currently available blades from GM. We'll see how they judge. I think 95 is when they changed, but I'm not certain
