I have a 1959 model which came to me literally in pieces. I decided to upgrade the suspension and engine and everything went together quite well other than the alternator mounting. I converted the engine to carburation and v-belt drive for the power steering, (Jim Myers front suspension). Because of the cam driven water pump there is no line-of-sight path from the normal position for the generator/alternator to the crankshaft pulley. The alternator has to move to near the bottom of the engine on the passenger side. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of a relocation kit that will work? Thanks David Bodily

Re: C1 LT1 engine swap
David, There was a thread a year or so ago on corvetteforum.com started by someone who did a conversion like yours. I think it was called "End of the World Build" or something like that. I think the builder was "kurt" something. If you do a CF search using his name and other search strings it may get you there.
Good luck,
Rich
p.s. most folks here don't do what you're doing, but plenty of folks on CF do major mods, customs, LS conversions, etc.- Top
