Tom. Still here working to install the D80 front side deflectors. I found these screws that look like they would be a match to the OEM screw/captive washer configuration. They come in 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1". How long are the OEM screws and is there anything special about the captive washer? What exactly is a captive washer, is it some sort of nut? Thanks for the assist.

for some reason my response from Friday failed to take...but here's what I wrote.

You should have ordered the kit. That 10/24 is a half inch in length. The head is hex head and a lock washer (has teeth) so you don't want to use that Phillips with its countersunk.

In 1978, Pace Cars did not use the screw but overtime the top of the spoiler would separate from the fender. The 1979 AIM does not show this but we are interested to hear from 1979 owners to document this deviant factory practice.
Tom, Apologize. Probably should have been clearer with my question. Reference your original (first) post quoted. The screw I have a question about is the one that secures the top of the 'front' air deflector to the fender. Understand this was only used for the 1979 model year with D80 option. Also, as per your recommendation I ordered the kit for the rear spoiler installation.
        Thanks again. Edward
