Buying Brake and Fuel Lines without the Shipping Bend

    Hi:
I am interested in purchasing brake and fuel lines for my 67 Corvette, and really do not want to deal with the shipping bends. Has anyone bought full lines from a vendor at Corvettes at Carlisle without the shipping bends? I plan on attending this year and would appreciate any leads on who you bought from and who I should be contacting now to preorder these parts. I appreciate any inputs anyone could provide. Thanks!

Like you Thomas I was skeptical about the shipping bends, but they straightened out just fine.

I agree. I've done several. No big deal.

Years ago, Tom Christman while working for Wayne Walker taught me how to remove the shipping bends in fuel and brake lines. It's hard to explain it on line and easy in person but here goes.
Take the line and put it on a flat surface with the bend at 90 degrees with the flat surface. Let someone hold the straight end solid on the flat surface and you gradually bend the tube down. It will straighten with no noticable bends or kinks.

If you call inline tube they will deliver without the shipping bend. I just got some brake lines for my 67 at the all GM Carlisle show.

If you get the bend it's no big deal as they mark the area to bend so you don't bend something that's supposed to be bent.

have a local shop make the lines for you, cheaper and they can bend it for you as you need.
