Last week I attended the NCRS Nat'l in Overland Park - had a Great time, which leads to kudos for Dana and the two sponsoring chapters. The facilities were impeccable, they chose well.
I personally scored well, meeting with a number of old friends that I'd had limited contact with in years past, for a million different reasons - Ralph, Toby, Keith & Judy, Joel, Don, John & Sally,Joel, - the list stops here because it is a given that you will forget somebody, and I apologize (example: Gail's new last name....).
I also had a few "slaps":
1) I attended the membership meeting, which turned out to be the first one that I had ever attended where the members were NOT asked if they had any questions. I guess that's one way to handle things - but I don't think it falls under the label of "being transparent";
2) I was acknowledged by my Regional Rep when he informed me that a response to my June 25 e-mail regarding Board activities and future/past plans was "at the top of his list" (For you folks at the bottom, keep your heirs informed);
3) there were an amazing # of "display" vehicles and "American Heritage" candidates on hand, including 2 of the original 5 contestant Corvettes in the 1956 Sebring 12 Hours, but I am at the same time of unaware of any FULL judging class - 3 in 58-60 - What gives?;
4) if the display cars furnished by Hendrick's Motorsports, John Neas and Kevin Mackay had not been present, it would have been dull at best.
