74 bbc exhaust question

not having much c-3 experience, did the original 74 bbc exhaust consist of an intermediate pipe welded to the muffler, much like an original midyear exhaust, or was the muffler clamped to the intermediate pipe as it left st louis? thanks,mike

The configuration was essentially the same as 63-73. Two differences:

1) The rear exhaust pipe/muffler assembly included resonators which were located about a foot aft of the trans crossmember;

2) There were no separate exhaust tips as used for all 63-73. The tips were part of the muffler and were oriented at about a 40 degree angle downward.

Now, for 1975, that's a whole different story.

Joe has it correct as usual, this was a one year only system.
