Best Place to Look for a '71 Engine Block

I'm looking for a engine block for my '71. Anybody have any idea who would be the best place to look or best person/company to contact?

Bob, I'm on the West Coast. I have had success w/David Crane of Crane's Corvettes in San Diego for locating '66 Corvette numbered hard parts. David is a long time Corvette vendor who has good ethics and business practices in my experience. He offers a discount to NCRS members. His number is 858.864.2883. You might also try the C3 orphans forum on this website. However, my experience w/private party sales is mixed. Invariably, the seller's opinion of the item is different than mine when I receive it.

Bob, there are two WI vendors of blocks and heads advertising in Hemmings under the parts section of Corvette. I have a friend who purchased from one and had no complaints. Steve www.hemmings.com

Thanks. I'm in Ohio and that might be a little less costly to ship!

          Bob,
Any 71 chevy or pickup truck in the salvage yard that is a 350 V8. I assume this is just a driver and numbers don't matter. If it does matter, you may be looking thru cars and/or racks in the yard for a while as most yard guys haven't a clue about "correct" numbers.
