65 Ignition issue

    65 Ignition issue

    I have a 65 Corvette that will not start with key in the start(crank position) , when I turn the key back to the on position it will fire. Anybody have any answers ! Thanks

    Sounds like the ignition switch is bad.

        You did not say-is this a conventional or TI ignition system. If TI, your problem is a blown amp power transistor-have it refurbished by someone that can do that work or replace the module with a Delco license reproduction module (much preferred over the M & H board).

          Assuming point ignition, you're not getting full 12V power from the "R" terminal on the starter solenoid (the small outboard one) back through the black/pink wire to the coil (+) terminal; that's the coil's only source of power when the starter is cranking.
