Re: C2 Fuel Injector inspection tag codes
JD, so have you seen any tags that are on 380 units with the bowl vent mod that was added to them after the start of production? First letter A, B ,or C? As Bob says, they were RP mods at the plant. I have an 380 tag with a 'B' on the left. A very early tag, date code L3 with 04 04 at a slant etc. Wonder what early mod 'B' is? Were any vent mods done in the field/chevy dealers. Watcha think?

Re: C2 Fuel Injector inspection tag codes
John,
No, I believe the tag is a bad forgery. My car was dressed up to look like an original L84. On very close inspection we now believe the VIN on the block was altered changing the L76 "RE" to an L84 "RF". The Trim Tag is stamped F2 and the date codes on the block, transmission, axle and components fall into the January time frame. I'm fairly confident the trim tag, VIN tag and drive train are original to the car. So whoever wanted to pass this off as a FI car dated this poorly done inspection tag A3. What I'd like to decipher now is the originality of the FI unit itself. The plenum tag has a serial # 3258 with a part # 7017375. I'd like to know what I should be looking for to confirm that the rest of the FI unit is genuine.
